We purchased a highly overpriced generator 6 months ago from Sears in Redding because of the supposedly excellent warranty. We paid $100 extra for the 5 year warranty. According to the salesmen we spoke with, if we had any problems, Sears would come out the next day and repair it. Well, so much for their warranty. The generator stopped working after only 6 months of low usage, and we have been without a functioning generator now for almost 2 months. Repairmen come out, order parts which take a week or more to get to us, then we have to schedule another appointment for them to come out again to do the repairs. Then when they come out, they realize they need another part, and round and round we go. Two different repairmen have been out to our house at least 5 times in the last 7 weeks, and now today again, another part has been ordered, so we'll be waiting another 2 weeks for the process to repeat itself. Save your money, and shop elsewhere!
