Living Hope Compassion Ministries, a homeless/low income outreach center managed by Redding First Church of the Nazarene, is an absolute godsend to those it serves in the Redding community. There are healthy lunches provided each weekday, as well as coffee and pastries each weekday morning. On Mondays they give away groceries, Wednesdays they provide showers, and Fridays they provide laundry facilities, as well as movies. Every Sunday there is a church service followed by a hot lunch. There are always caring volunteers available to anyone who might wish to counsel about a personal problem or prayer request. Living Hope also has a clothing donation room available to anyone who needs clothes, and also has available, periodically, home furnishings/items for people moving into housing. This ministry is absolutely the most caring place in the city of Redding for a homeless or low income person or family who is seeking assistance.
