General Info

We are a child care center licensed by the PA Department of Public Welfare and employs only qualified, conscientious staff to care for your child when you're away. Our center is also participating in Pennsylvania's Keystone Stars child care accreditation program. The center provides care and programs for infants to school age children. Sunshine and Stars provides two shifts of care to accommodate the needs of most working parents. Children attending the AM shift may arrive as early as 7: 00 AM, and the AM program commences at 4: 00PM. The PM shift opens at 12: 30PM, and the PM commences at 10: 30 PM, Monday through Friday. We also offer Saturday care currently 8-5pm. Our center is open 12 months a year, with a full summer camp program with real camping experiences. While in our care, Sunshine and Stars promotes in each child their emotional, cognitive, communicative, perceptual-motor, physical and social development skills. The curriculum includes developmentally appropriate educational games and toys to develop an understanding of colors, shapes, numbers and letters. Our four-five year olds will be taught individually, and as a group to prepare them for kindergarten. We will use materials to promote their fine motor and writing skills, we will introduce them to beginning math skills and work on their reading and self help skills. Our program includes music, movement, art, drama and physical education while working to promote each child's emotional, social and behavioral skills. Field trips, cooking activities, videos and visitors to the classrooms are also included along with monthly activities related to our monthly and/or weekly themes.

Great Centers, I just toured both centers Thursday because I work retail and need second shift some days but live closer to the Leesport center. Very nice and will be starting in Feb.
