- ElectrocardiogramPrior to your surgery, you will receive a telephone call from one of the Surgery Center nurses to go over your medical history and previous surgeries. At this time, the nurse will inform you if you need an EKG or any lab testing. You will also receive instructions about eating or drinking and any medications that should be taken on the morning of your operation.
- Laser Eye SurgeryFor services performed at the Berkshire Eye Surgery Center, Berks Plastic Surgery Center or the Berks Urologic Surgery Center, you will receive a bill from Reading Anesthesia Associates for the professional services rendered by the anesthesiologist which is separate from the Surgery Center's bill.
- Labor and DeliveryEach woman's labor is unique to her, so the amount of labor pain you feel will differ from that felt by other women in labor. For this reason, decisions regarding control of your labor pain must be made specifically for you. Many mothers are choosing to have pain relief during labor and delivery to help them experience a more comfortable childbirth.
- Mental HealthTo Avert a Serious Threat to Health or Safety. We may use your health information or share it with others when necessary to prevent a serious threat to your health or safety, or the health or safety of another person or the public. In such cases, we will share your information only with someone able to help prevent the threat. We may also disclose your health information to law enforcement officers if you tell us that you participated in a violent crime that may have caused serious physical harm to another person (unless you admitted that fact while in counseling), or if we determine that you escaped from lawful custody (such as a prison or mental health institution).
- Ear SurgeryFor services performed at the Pennsylvania Eye and Ear Surgery Center at Granite Point, you will receive a bill from Reading Anesthesia Associates for the professional services of the anesthesiologist, which is separate from the Surgery Center's bill. Depending on your insurance carrier, the fee for the professional services of the RAA-employed nurse anesthetist may be billed separately or may be included in the bill for the anesthesiologist.
- Hand SurgeryFor surgery of the arm, the needle or catheter is usually placed in the neck for shoulder surgery, or in the chest or armpit for arm or hand surgery.
- Plastic SurgeryREADING ANESTHESIA ASSOCIATES is a private medical group providing services at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, The Reading Hospital SurgiCenter at Spring Ridge, Berkshire Eye Surgery Center, Pennsylvania Eye and Ear Surgery Center, Berks Urologic Surgery Center and Berks Plastic Surgery Center.
