He completed his medical school training at Temple University, his adult psychiatry training at the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital, and his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has been Medical Director for the Department of Psychiatry at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center since 1994, and is currently also Medical Director for Haven Behavioral Hospital of Eastern, PA, a free-standing psychiatric hospital in Reading, PA. He sees children, adults, and families for evaluation and treatment of all psychiatric disorders. In addition, Dr. Putnam is faculty for the Pennsylvania Gestalt Center and co-leads workshops and training at the Center in Malvern, PA. Dr. Putnam sees patients at both the Wyomissing and Reading office locations.
