I don't write reviews but I co...

I don't write reviews but I completely agree with the previous reviewer and want Brown's to have as many stars as possible. We moved to Reading 3 yrs ago and first went to Brown's upon recommendation. I also wouldn't go anywhere else. At this point I feel I know them so well I just drop my car off in the morning, talk to them during the day, pick up my car on the way home and leave him a check in the drop box.

Kevin is extremely knowledgeable and honest and I've never felt like I was getting ripped off. We take a long trip to Myrtle Beach every summer and always bring our van in with the request: Get it ready for the long trip. Year after year he's come back with recommendations ranging from, All you need is an oil change -to- If this was my family in the car I'd want 4 new tires before making this trip. Even when we had to replace the tires for last year's trip, I compared his tire prices to those at Wal-mart and the difference was negligible. One of his guys even talked me out of more expensive tires saying from his experience he sees no difference between option 1 and option 2, the more expensive tires aren't worth it - just go with these and you'll be fine in the summer and the winter. I was looking at buying a used car from a family member and called to get his opinion - he said: Don't do it - I hate those cars [they're not reliable] and parts will be expensive to replace. My husband hit a curb once and we needed some axle work done. Kevin went to a junk yard upon our request and found used parts in order to save us money.

Kevin and his guys are awesome - I highly recommend taking your car there and getting to know them.

Wouldn't take my car anywhere else

Saw the previous review and had to respond. I've been taking my car to Brown's since I moved to Reading six years ago and based on my dealings with Mr. Brown I must say, I'm very skeptical of the claim that he would rip off ANYONE, much less his 87 year old handicapped next door neighbor. Of course, I'm also skeptical that an 87 year old woman would choose the screen name "cheech", but that's another story.

As I said, I started taking my car to Brown's when I moved to Reading six years ago, based on the recommendation of my wife, who has been taking her cars there ever since she started driving. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience, nor have I ever had cause to question Mr. Brown's honesty. In fact, there've been many instances where I've brought my car in thinking there was something terribly wrong with it and prepared to cough up a lot of money, only to have Mr. Brown find something very minor that cost $50 or $100 to fix.

To me, the only thing that rang true in cheech's review is that Mr. Brown is very good about trying to talk you out of expensive repairs if he doesn't think it's worth it. To me that's a good thing.

As I was saying, after taking my car to Brown's for the past six years I wouldn't think of taking it anywhere else.
