General Info

Barnitta Moses, D.N.P. is a Baltimore native. At 12 years of age she decided she wanted to become a nurse. She graduated from Edmondson High School and then attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County and the Union Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1988. However, she felt limited by the scope of practice of the LPN and decided to attend Union Memorial's Registered Nurse program, from which she graduated in 1995. Barnitta has worked in a variety of settings, including medical surgery and oncology. She was supervisor and triage nurse at Bon Secours outpatient clinic. She has worked at many area hospitals including Sinai, University of Maryland, Maryland General and Franklin Square. Before joining our practice, she spent 10 years at Mercy Medical Center working in the Mother/Baby Unit. She has vast medical knowledge, and her obstetrical and nursery experience enhance her ability to work with new mothers and their newborns. During her time at Mercy Hospital, Barnitta decided that she wanted to have a larger part in the plan of care for her patients, and she decided to enter the advanced practice arena. She received her Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Maryland in 2007 and her Master of Science degree from the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 2009 with a certification in Advance Practice Nursing in Pediatric Primary Care. Barnitta has been practicing as a pediatric nurse practitioner since 2009. She is board certified and is very excited to be able to decide and initiate treatments that she feels best suit her patients and their unique health concerns. She has an interest in improving quality care outcomes for children. Dr. Moses earned her doctorate in nursing practice in 2019. She is married to Mannie Moses, a minister. She has two daughters, Jennifer Gayle Butler and Janine Latrice Moses, two dogs and two cats. Her interests include attending church, skating, bowling and spending quality time with her family.
