General Info
What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out? You do not need to know anything before you call me; I will walk you through it. You might even be able to fix it yourself with me walking you through the problem and save money. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional? Always ask exactly what you think is correct. The company is the one to figure out what is going wrong. e.g. If your computer won't start, tell them. If you are having problems with your monitor, sound, keyboard, speakers and etc., let them know in plain English and see if they get rude, expecting you to know, this will let you know right away if the company is worth dealing with. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share? Important information to know before having someone come out to fix your computer. Will they tell you over the phone what the cure is to your problem and give you a chance to fix it yourself, this is good when it is not too complicated. e.g. Getting malware and spyware off of your computer. Offering you free antivirus. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you? Always get payment information from any provider before having them come out and stick you with a huge bill. Make sure you have some idea of what it costs for the job you want done. When you are talking to the representatives, are they being polite and do they sound like a company you want to do business with? Describe three recent jobs you've completed. • Failing RAID hard drives in a tower. My job was to get all software and data off the two hard drives and apply to one. The two 500gig hard drives were set in sequence to equal one. The computer is still running great and fast. • A company had a computer tech that would take care of the server and computer needs. The guy disappeared and did not leave the password with them so they were locked out of their server for 6 months and then they met me. I had their server back in business in 15 minutes and put a password on it that they supplied. • Sage accounting system was not reporting correctly. When they were trying to print a report, the system kept erroring out becuase it was pointing to a missing file. I created the file and reports have not given them a problem since.
