More suitable as a restaurant than specialty grocery. With advent of Trader
Joe's coming to area, the "Whole Paycheck" sobriquet is more apt than
ever. W F is overpriced competitor, offering competition only in fresh
meat and fish area. The restaurant offers cafeteria service of foods and
competes with venues such as the Irregardless Cafe, with respect
to foodstuff offered.
However, Whole Foods, sells by weight (i.e. at X$ per pound of food) so
difficult to compare with organic restaurants. Generally, buying meat/fish as
opposed to vegetable matter is cost efficient way at WF cafeteria.
By the same token you get service in places like Irregardless.
This "Whole Paycheck" location has very large section devoted to cosmetics
and food supplements/additives. Has relatively small produce and
grocery section.
Located off inner Beltline eastward on Wade Avenue to first light at Ridge
Road. Store is in Ridgewood Shopping Center on north side of Wade Avenue.
Turn into Ridge Road to enter. If you miss this you can turn Left at next light
going east and enter that way. Shopping center has: chain drug store;
Quail Ridge book store; Bruegger's Bagels (cheaper place for good sandwich );
wine merchant; knitting and yarn store; cleaners; bank; bike store; and a few other
businesses in an eclectic setting.
Hoping this is helpful to you, good-luck,
pjamesb
Great if you like organic. They have a good selection. I would highly recommend this store. I would try a little of everything.
Great fresh produce but the store is too small...it makes it a pain to shop there. Everyone is bumping into each other, especially around the food cases.
