  Following law school Laura worked as a law clerk to a federal judge in North Dakota, handling employment law cases, Social Security appeals, and large business disputes, among other things. After her clerkship she worked in private practice, handling all manner of legal issues, before moving to North Carolina in 1991. Since then, she has worked in private practice, focusing primarily on employment law disputes and litigation.
