- Eminent DomainSatisky & Silverstein, LLP assists local and county governments and property owners with matters related to the taking of private property for public projects. Using the powers of eminent domain, the state, federal, and local government can condemn privately-owned land and use it for public projects such as schools, roads, and public works projects. However, when condemning property, the condemning authority must deposit into court an amount that it estimates to be the fair market value of the property taken. Our work on behalf of landowners is handled on a contingency basis, meaning we only recover a fee if the landowner ultimately recovers an amount in excess of the condemning authority’s deposit.
