- Chiropractic AdjustmentsOne of the most important benefits of chiropractic care is that this will address the root cause of someone’s back pain. Too often, low back pain treatments focus on treating the symptoms that are on the surface. While it is important to get rid of the symptoms, it is also important to make sure that the condition does not come back. Unless the root cause is addressed, the symptoms could return in the near future. A chiropractor will work with every patient to identify the root cause of back pain. Then, by addressing the root cause, the condition is treated for good. This could be done with a variety of treatment methods including massage therapy, physical therapy, and chiropractic adjustments.

- SubluxationThe answer is YES! Most misalignments of the spine occur before the age of 10 and get progressively worse with time if left untreated. As you well know, falls and injuries are very common to children. Learning to walk or ride a bike, wrestling with other children, even being tossed up in the air by loving parents can all lead to misalignments of the bones in the spine. These misalignments are called subluxations. Subluxations of the spine result in nerve damage and loss of proper function and health. (See more information in our About Chiropractic Section). In addition to the aforementioned symptoms, theses misalignments along with poor posture and childhood muscle imbalances may lead to scoliosis, which may continue to progress throughout adolescence. Chiropractors across the nation help thousands of children each day with safe, natural care.
- Manipulation TherapyAdjustments: This is the focus of most chiropractic treatment options. A chiropractor can use manual therapy to make sure the vertebrae of the spinal column are in the right position. This is critical for ensuring proper nerve function.
- Spinal DecompressionSpinal decompression may also be recommended for sciatica. The goal of spinal decompression is to slightly increase the amount of space between each individual vertebrae. If someone is dealing with sciatica, there is a chance that the vertebrae could be compressing the sciatic nerve. With spinal decompression, it is possible to increase the amount of space surrounding certain nerves in the spinal column, alleviating symptoms.

- AcupunctureAcupuncture is a component of the health care system of China that can be traced back for at least 2,500 years. Since President Richard Nixon’s visit to China in 1972, there has been an explosion of interest in the application of the technique of acupuncture in many western countries including the United States. Acupuncture has been used by millions of American patients and performed by thousands of physicians, dentists, acupuncturists, and other practitioners for relief or prevention of pain and for a variety of health conditions. After reviewing the existing body of knowledge, the U.S. food and Drug Administration recently removed acupuncture needles from the category of “experimental medical devices” and now regulates them just as it does other devices, such as surgical scalpels and hypodermic syringes.
- Disc Herniation TreatmentIn addition, these studies have demonstrated the adverse impact of a hypoxic environment. Nicotine has long been known to lead to blood vessel construction. What this means is that it is difficult for oxygen and nutrients to get where they need to go. When blood vessels constrict in the back, this can lead to the degeneration of important vasculature in spinal discs. When this happens, the discs can start to degenerate and dehydrate, leading to long-term medical concerns. This could even increase the risk of someone suffering a disc herniation.
