- AutismDr. Mendel offers social skills groups for children, adolescents and young adults. These groups are geared toward children who are socially awkward, extremely shy, or anxious in social situations. Many of these children have diagnoses of Aspergers’ Disorder or High-Functioning Autism, but these diagnoses are not required for participation in the group. His groups are not time-limited; that is, children can join the group at any point and participate as long as it is helpful to them. The maximum for each group is six members.
