- ElectrocardiogramGenerally your first appointment will consist of obtaining your detailed medical history, performing a physical examination and gathering additional information through laboratory tests, an electrocardiogram and, frequently, a chest x-ray.
- Internal MedicineDr. Pankaj Parikh has been practicing Cardiology in Raleigh since 1994. He completed his medical studies at Baroda Medical College in Baroda, India. In the US, he did residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at the Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Parikh’s primary area of expertise is Preventive and Diagnostic Cardiology including Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Catheterization. He has admitting privileges at Wake Med hospital.
- UltrasoundUltrasound waves create a two-dimensional view of the heart. This non-invasive diagnostic procedure evaluates various structures within the heart. A stress echocardiogram compares the heart’s function during exercise to its function during rest for greater precision in determining whether or not there are blockages in the arteries.
