The Hoke County Board of Education is a corporate body that establishes policies for the operation of Hoke County Schools and oversees the implementation of these policies. The board conducts regular school meetings. It performs judicial functions by conducting hearings as appropriate. The board is responsible for the hiring of a superintendent and evaluates and responds to recommendations made by that superintendent. It also encourages parents to participate in activities, such as parent conferences, in order to encourage effective communication. Hoke County Schools administers several elementary, middle and high schools. The Hoke County Board of Education is located in Raeford, N.C.
