Founded in 1843, the Racine Fire Department is governed by The City of Racine in Wisconsin. It offers a range of fire suppression and protection and emergency medical services. The department provides hazardous material response and confined space and dive rescue services. It works in partnership with various agencies and organizations and administers public education programs. The Racine Fire Department offers building inspection, natural gas leak detection and alarm system testing services. It employs a work force of more than 145 people. The department maintains more than five stations. It also protects the villages of Wind Point and Elmwood Park in Racine.
