Founded in 1935, Alcoholics Anonymous is a worldwide fellowship of men and women with drinking problem. It advocates total abstinence and has more than 117,000 groups and approximately 2,000,000 members in more than 180 countries. The organization conducts a Twelve Steps program offering a variety of solutions to recover from alcoholism. In addition, Alcoholics Anonymous conducts meetings at correctional as well as treatment facilities. The organization is a part of Alcoholics Anonymous World Services Inc.
