- EndometriosisEndometriosis is a common, treatable disease that affects over six million women in the US and Canada and is known to be present in thirty percent of women with infertility. If detected and treated in a timely manner, endometriosis does not have to affect your fertility success.
- PregnancyAlso called a tubal pregnancy, this is a condition in which the embryo implants outside of the uterus, usually in the fallopian tube, although it can also occur in the ovary or abdominal cavity. If such a pregnancy is allowed to continue, it may eventually rupture the fallopian tube and cause life-threatening hemorrhage. Such a pregnancy can never be sustained and often leads to decreased or complete loss of function in the affected tube.
- Labor and DeliveryBecause many miscarriages are due to these chromosomal abnormalities, one mode of treatment involves preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-A). This test allows for genetic analysis of embryos prior to implantation via IVF. Genetic testing increases the odds of a healthy pregnancy and childbirth and dramatically reduces the chance for miscarriage by allowing embryologists to implant only healthy, chromosomally normal embryos.

- UltrasoundTraditional ultrasound tests allow your doctor to assess the health of your ovaries, uterus, and follicles. Transvaginal ultrasound can look for tiny follicles (called antral follicles) in the ovaries. The total antral follicle count should be around 10 to confirm a normal ovarian egg supply. The ultrasound can also supply information about the lining of the uterus (the endometrium), which is typically 8mm or more around ovulation and has a certain ultrasound pattern.
