I visited Quincy Center Dental as a new customer in December 2010 and asked them first how much it would cost me to have a root canal since I know its expensive and my delta insurance may not cover it 100%. They took a copy of my delta dental card and told me to come back a week after. I came back a week later and I was told that my insurance only paid a certain amount and I had to pay out of my pocket $209 which I agreed and used my credit card to pay upfront before I had the root canal done on that day. Two month later, I suddenly received a bill from Quincy Dental for another $98.00. I called them to dispute the charge based on the fact that we all agreed that $209 is the amount that I have to pay in addition to my dental insurance coverage. If I knew before hand that it could me that much, as a patient, I have the right to shop for another dentist and refuse the service. The tooth pain is bad enough, I don't think you want to add another pain.
