Founded in 1959, J. Jill is a multichannel, specialty retailer of women s apparel and accessories in the United States. The company operates more than 270 stores in over 35 U.S. states. It serves women above the age of 35. J. Jill s distribution center is spread over an area of more than 585,000 square feet. The company introduced its e-commerce Web site, www.jjill.com, in 1999 and has a circulation of over 55 million products. J. Jill established the J. Jill Compassion Fund in 2002 to provide financial support on a national scale to nonprofit, community-based organizations that serves women and children. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Talbots, which is one of the leading specialty retailers and direct marketers of women's apparel, shoes and accessories in the United States, the District of Columbia and Canada.
