At first, in a cramped store, this could be an issue, but after a few minutes of waiting, you get the feel that this is part of the inner world of team sports. Indeed, coaches of many a local high school and other athletic programs go to Beacon for uniforms and supplies, so there must be a reason. It's kind of like a pineapple. Get through the prickly skin, and you'll find out why people like it. Maybe, after a while, I'll become part of the "inner circle" as a newly minted baseball coach, but, for now, patience has paid off with more than reasonable prices. I would rate them higher, but, as a person with over twenty years of retail experience, I may be more patient than others. Crotchety isn't endearing to a lot of people, so I'd advise a new visitor to imagine it's their dad or granddad behind the counter. A broad selection for any major sport, and I wouldn't be surprised if they could get anything for any sport.
