General Info
Neiman Foods is responsible for building the first supermarket in Quincy, Ill., in 1940. In 1917, Ferd Niemann Sr. and Steve Niemann opened their first grocery store. By 1930, they had 10 corner grocery stores and a thriving wholesale business. In 1969, the company started to phase out of its wholesale business and began to concentrate on retail. The grocery store operates under the names of Country Market, Cub Foods and Save-A-Lot. Niemann Foods operates in more than 45 stores in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. The grocery store s corporate headquarters are located in Quincy.

On Tuesday July 8th, 2014, I was shopping at the Chatham, Il County Market. During my shopping, I saw a rat - not a mouse, and left the store immediately. Does any practice of vermin control exist with your company/stores? This is disturbing. Would you go back to a restaurant if you saw something similar to what I saw? I have shopped at that location for 6 years for convenience and friendly staff. Please do something about this problem.
We recently attended a function at County Market whereby Hope Danielsen gave us a tour and spoke about diabetic problems/eating. She is very knowledgeable and a real assest to County Market. We attempted to email the powers that be at Neimann foods but there website would not allow us to send our email How unfortunate that they (the Ceos) will not know that we may continue as customers having enjoyed our visit with Hope.
