      Can't rate the school today (10 Apr 2011) but was a student in the late 40s early 50s. This school served me well and was walking distance from home. I remember feeling special to be picked to run around outside the school waving a huge bell to signal end of recess, and in third grade, I was one of three girls picked to participate in the Sprig of Green Ceremony. What that was all about, I don't recall but it did get our picture in the Daily Herald. Fire drills included sliding down a circular slide and the halls included ramps instead of stairs. Never had a teacher I didn't like but felt special to have a male 6th grade teacher. Drove by recently and surprised to see the new buildings, but not to be unexpected, "as time goes by."
