The YMCA of Greater Providence offers several social and recreational programs for youths, adults and families. The YMCA of Greater Providence has a health department that provides yoga, Pilates and cancer rehabilitation programs. Its sports activities include basketball, soccer, softball, golf, archery, floor hockey, martial arts and volleyball. With one of its offices in Providence, R.I., the organization additionally offers music lessons and theater trips for senior citizens. The YMCA of Greater Providence is a part of the Young Men's Christian Association, which was founded in 1844.
