About WRNI WRNI, broadcasting on 1290AM in Providence and 102.7FM in Southern Rhode Island, is a non-commercial NPR news station owned and operated by Rhode Island Public Radio. WRNI provides Rhode Islanders with balanced and in-depth coverage of national, international, and local news. Our mission is to provide quality journalism and compelling storytelling that informs, educates, and inspires community. We are a National Public Radio member station, and home to national programs such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and On Point. In addition to NPR and BBC programming, WRNI's award-winning news team produces local series and segments that help listeners stay connected to our Rhode Island community. From Providence to Paris and from Newport to New Guinea, WRNI provides context on what's happening both around the world and in The Ocean State.
