Watson Institute for International Studies, founded in 1986, undertakes a variety of research and teaching programs for students. It offers research programs in the areas of climate change, population, environment, mining, global economy, environmental management, and natural and social sciences. The research programs provided by the institute also include public education, international affairs, electronic media, environmental planning, information technology, nuclear war and violence prevention. The institute also publishes a variety of newsletters and magazines that provide information on various global issues, including politics, culture and instructional programs. In addition, it organizes seminar on political economy, social entrepreneurship and global ethics. Watson Institute for International Studies is located in Providence, R.I.
