The Aroostook Medical Center is a nonprofit organization that offers a range of inpatient and outpatient services. The center employs more than 1,000 people. It specializes in cardiology, obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and pediatrics, as well as provides surgical services. It provides physical and occupational therapies, as well as offers laboratory, X-ray and cancer care services. The center also maintains a health library and provides a variety of health tools that includes healthy weight and target heart rate calculators. In addition, it offers medical services for women, children and senior citizens. The Aroostook Medical Center is an affiliate of EMHS, which is also known as Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems and operates several health care facilities.
