- Dental ExaminationWith an oral examination and x-rays of the mouth, Drs. Lin & Gramins can evaluate the position of the wisdom teeth to see if there are current or predicted future problems.

- CrownsUsing the most recent advances in dental implant technology, our doctors are able to place single stage implants. These implants do not require a second procedure to uncover them, but do require a minimum of six weeks of healing time before artificial teeth are placed. There are even situations where the implants can be placed at the same time as a tooth extraction - further minimizing the number of surgical procedures. Advances in dental implant technology have made it possible, in select cases, to extract teeth and place implants with crowns at one visit. This procedure, called "immediate loading", actually performs the implant placement.
- BridgesA single prosthesis (crown) is used to replace one missing tooth – each prosthetic tooth attaches to its own implant. A partial prosthesis (fixed bridge) can replace two or more teeth and may require only two or three implants. A complete dental prosthesis (fixed bridge) replaces all the teeth in your upper or lower jaw. The number of implants varies depending upon which type of complete prosthesis (removable or fixed) is recommended. A removable prosthesis (over denture) attaches to a bar or ball in socket attachments, whereas a fixed prosthesis is permanent and removable only by the dentist. Drs. Lin and Gramins perform in-office implant surgery in a hospital-style operating suite, thus optimizing the level of sterility. Inpatient hospital implant surgery is for patients who have special medical or anesthetic needs or for those who need extensive bone grafting from the jaw, hip or tibia.

- Root Canal TreatmentIf a tooth is knocked out, it should be placed in salt water or milk. The sooner the tooth is re-inserted into the dental socket, the better chance it will survive. Therefore, the patient should see a dentist or oral surgeon as soon as possible. Never attempt to wipe the tooth off, since remnants of the ligament that hold the tooth in the jaw are attached and are vital to the success of replanting the tooth. Other dental specialists may be called upon such as endodontists, who may be asked to perform root canal therapy, and/or restorative dentists who may need to repair or rebuild fractured teeth. In the event that injured teeth cannot be saved or repaired, dental implants are often utilized as replacements for missing teeth.
- DenturesPartial dentures, flippers, or full dentures should not be used immediately after your surgery unless instructed otherwise and for one week. This would have been discussed in your preoperative consultation.
- Dental ImplantsOver a period of time, the jawbone associated with missing teeth can be reabsorbed by the body. This often means the quality and quantity of bone needed for successful placement of dental implants is not sufficient.
- Oral SurgeryI have worked in oral surgery since 2004 and my favorite thing about my job is the people. Every day I interact with all kinds of different personalities. I love the challenge of easing someone's worries or providing input to teammates to help them navigate challenges.
- Jaw SurgeryPeople who can benefit from corrective jaw surgery include those with an improper bite or jaws that are positioned incorrectly. Jaw growth is a gradual process and in some instances, the upper and lower jaws may grow at different rates. The result can be a host of problems that can affect chewing function, speech, long-term oral health, and appearance. Injury to the jaw and birth defects can also affect jaw alignment.
- Maxillofacial SurgeryX-rays are one of the most important diagnostic tools in an oral & maxillofacial surgery office. Our standard of care requires a panoramic x-ray for all patients. These films check for pathology in the roots, sinuses, nerves, and jawbones.
- Tooth ExtractionsAfter tooth extraction, it’s important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. That’s why we ask you to bite on a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes after the appointment. If the bleeding or oozing still persists, place another gauze pad and bite firmly for another 30 minutes. You may have to do this several times.
- Bone GraftingIn these situations, most patients require bone grafting in order to be ready for the placement of dental implants. After this process, it could take several months for the transplanted bone to grow enough new bone to support the actual placement of a dental implant. Once the jawbone heals, the implant process can move forward.
- OrthodonticsOrthognathic surgery is needed when jaws don't meet correctly and/or teeth don't seem to fit with jaws. Corrective jaw surgery will reposition a misaligned jaw. Teeth are also straightened with orthodontics. This not only improves facial appearance, but also ensures that teeth meet correctly and function properly.
