PEOPLe, also known as Projects to Empower and Organize the Psychiatrically Labeled, is a nonprofit organization advocates for the rights and choices of people who experience psychiatric symptoms. The organization provides individualized services to assist in obtaining and inquiring about employment. It offers hospitalization options for the residents of Orange and Ulster counties in New York. PEOPLe presents a suicide prevention program in schools. The organization manages ASIST, known as Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, which is a program that helps communities become suicide safer. In addition, it operates an emergency department. PEOPLe offers peer-run informational, technical and planning support programs.
