Established in 1941, the LaGrange Fire District provides life safety, fire protection and emergency medical services to the citizens of Dutchess County, N.Y. Its staff includes captains, lieutenants, firefighters and a team of paramedics. The organization has a fleet of engines, tankers, response vehicles, pumpers, and heavy rescue and brush trucks, as well as ambulances. The LaGrange Fire District operate ladies' auxiliary divisions that furnishes food and drink to firefighters operating at emergency scenes and provide assistance to firefighters with fundraising and community services. It also maintains fire police department that controls flow of vehicles and directs traffic. The LaGrange Fire District maintains a presence in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
