Established in 1846, Good Intent Fire Company 1 provides fire and emergency medical services for the protection of life and property. It has a staff of a fire chief, fire fighters, captains and lieutenants. Good Intent Fire Company 1 offers professional fire suppression, rescue and safety education services. It maintains a variety of pumpers, tankers, hose pipes, rescue vehicles and self-contained breathing apparatus. The company offers preventive assistance services for citizens and visitors, as well as a variety of businesses, including banks, restaurants, bars and breweries. Located in Pottsville, Pa., Good Intent Fire Company 1 is one of the charter member companies of the Pottsville Fire Department, which was established in 1877.
