Ponderosa Elementary enrolls more than 550 students in grades one through five. It offers classes in physical education, math, reading and writing. The school also provides the Title I program. Ponderosa Elementary offers special education programs for gifted and talented students. In addition, it provides guidance counseling, transportation and food services. The school operates a parent-teacher organization, library and computer laboratory. Ponderosa Elementary organizes before-and after-school activities. It also offers volunteer opportunities and conducts cross-country tournaments. The school organizes book fairs and talent shows. Ponderosa Elementary provides extracurricular activities in choir. It is a part of Post Falls School District 273.
