Area HomeCare & Family Services, located in Portsmouth, N.H.., is a nonprofit organization that contracts with the State of New Hampshire to provide non medical home care services to the elderly and people with disabilities. It provides free service to eligible clients. It offers home care services under two programs, Homemaker and Adult In-Home Care. The organization provides a variety of services, such as meal planning and preparation, including cooking, serving and storing food for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. It offers shopping services that consist of buying, with funds provided by the clients. The organization offers laundry services that include washing, drying, and ironing client s clothes. It also provides light housekeeping, including washing dishes, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, wet mopping floors, cleaning kitchen and bathroom fixtures and emptying wastebaskets.
