- Orthopedic SurgeryHe received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Notre Dame in 1985 and attended Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1995 and fellowship in adult reconstruction in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1996. Following his service in the United States Air Force Medical Corps, he and his wife chose the Willamette Valley to raise their family. An advocate of minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Coen has performed over two thousand total hip replacements using the direct anterior approach. He enjoys spending time with his family.
- ArthroscopyLabral tear may be caused by trauma, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), hip hypermobility, dysplasia, and degeneration. It is one of the rare conditions and is common in athletes playing sports such as ice hockey, soccer, golf and ballet. Structural abnormalities may also cause hip labral tear. Patients may have hip pain, clicking and locking of joint and restricted range of motion. Patients may also experience dull pain on movement of hip joint that may not subside on rest. Hip labral tear is often diagnosed with symptoms, history, physical examination and radiological techniques. Magnetic resonance arthroscopy may be more appropriate for diagnosing hip labral tear.
- Hip ReplacementI am happy to share that my hip is holding up perfectly, and just like you predicted, the only time I’m reminded of my hip replacement is seeing the scar. I guess next time I’ll ask for a plastic surgeon.

- Reconstructive SurgeryDr. Nanson completed his undergraduate studies and a master’s in Public Health at the University of Arizona. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Then, he completed a surgery residency program at Phoenix Orthopedic Surgery followed by an orthopedic residency program at the University of Arizona in Tucson. In addition, Dr. Nanson completed an adult reconstructive surgery fellowship program at OrthoCarolina Hip and Knee Center in Charlotte North Carolina.
- Sports MedicineHe completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University and received his medical degree at Pennsylvania State University Hershey College of Medicine. Afterward, he completed both his internship and orthopedic residency programs at Boston University in Boston Massachusetts. While at Boston University he also completed his Sports Medicine fellowship. Dr. Puskas completed an additional Shoulder and Elbow surgery fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa Florida.
- Physical TherapyKendra played softball in college and has a background in physical therapy and a strong interest in sports medicine. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
