Founded in 1972, Janus Youth Programs is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the Northwest United States. It serves more than 35,000 children, youth and families each year in Oregon and Washington. It is licensed by the Department of Human Services of Oregon and the Oregon Youth Authority to provide group residential and shelter care services. Additionally, Janus Youth Programs is licensed by the Department of Drug and Alcohol. It s the Lents Education Center is a private, alternative school for students in grades 6 through 10. The center specializes in working with special education students. It also offers urban agriculture and college scholarship services. Janus Youth Programs is based in Portland, Ore.
