General Info
Raelyn began her harp studies at the School of the Arts in Milwaukee, WI at the age of 11. She completed her BA degree in Harp Performance from San Jose State University. Beyond the harp, Raelyn also studied music composition, jazz, piano, and recording. Raelyn has more than 15 years of professional harp playing experience which started in the California Bay area and continues today in Portland, OR. She has played for numerous parties, weddings, and special events for clients such as Intel, Oregon Heat, OHSU, SJSU, and Lanier. Raelyn has performed with several orchestra/choir groups, including: the Monterey Symphony, Nova Vista Symphony, Don Haneke Chorale, San Jose State Choraliers, Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, San Jose Youth Orchestra, and the Winchester Orchestra. In San Jose, CA she was the regular harpist at Gervais and Pastas. More recently in Portland, Raelyn has performed with #1 Indie artist, Poeina Suddarth; Felina's Arrow; and Jon Garcia. Her harp has also been featured in several recording projects including: Jon Garcia's movie The Falls; the #1 New Age album, Tomorrow Will Tell the Story (Echo Us);The Tide Decides (Echo Us); and The Lake (Jon Garcia). Raelyn enjoys playing various styles of music on both concert and lever harps and is not afraid to improvise. She continues to perform freelance harp and write her own compositions in the Portland area.
