General Info
Geekoids.Com, LLC was originally a joint venture for Douglas Glatz and Sean Kamath. It came about in the fall of 2000 when the hosting company for Dougs original domain (showcats.net) folded, and he was forced to find new hosting on short notice. Given a choice between going to the new host recommended by the previous one, or taking some equipment on hand and starting his own hosting company, Doug decided that he would strike out on his own, but not alone. Daunted by some of the technical aspects that he had little experience with, Doug approached Sean about helping him resolve those issues at a time when Sean was looking for assistance with some technical work he was consulting on. A partnership was formed!

I wouldn't give Geekoids even half a star. They answered their number without identifying themselves, refused 4 times to say whether it was a computer repair service or not, finally admitted they were, said I could drop my computer off Saturday, it would get worked on Sunday, and they'd let me know Sunday afternoon what was going on with it. I dropped it off and was given a too-expensive quote, and was told this was some sort of "deal." No one called Sunday. I called and left a message, no callback. I called Monday and was told 1) nothing had been done with it; 2) They wouldn't be able to even look at it for 5-7 days; 3) If I wanted it taken care of sooner, that would have to be a "priority" job & would cost an additional $50. When I told them nothing had been said about any "priority" charge and I'd been told it would be ready Sunday, I received a half-hearted apology and was told nothing could be done for at least a week. Unacceptable, even WITHOUT the extra "priority" charge.

Doug and his team were very helpful as I transitioned out of my old HP to a new MacBook! He offered fair prices, honest and helpful support as I struggled with the change.
