First off I'll say plainly that I have a grudge against the current owner and his wretched mother. My mother worked there for 15 years, was pretty much the unsung manager of the store, worked her butt off and did everything she could to make the store good, ordered for the store, scheduled employees, was an exemplary employee. Regulars adored her for the kind and efficient woman that she was. The old manager, bless his soul, was a great man who, even with my mom being on disability, kept her on and promised her that she would always have a job there. When that wonderful man passed, his son and wife took over, and for no damn good reason fired my mother. My mother was devastated, that store was her second family and shes been super depressed ever since. So I'll say that this store USED to value employee loyalty and reward it, but now, its just another liquor store. The few employees left from my mother's time are great and the ONLY reason this place got more than 1 star.
