- Dental ExaminationAfter a comprehensive exam and diagnosis of your endodontic condition, Dr. Kreutzer will carefully explain the diagnosis, recommended procedures, alternative treatment options, risks associated with treatment and will answer any questions you may have. Dr. Kreutzer considers your understanding of your treatment a critical aspect of your care.
- Bridges
- Root Canal TreatmentThe association between "root canal" and "pain" is outdated. With the use of modern techniques and anesthetics, Dr. Kreutzer will take every measure to ensure that your procedure is in no way uncomfortable or painful. If treatment is needed, a small amount of local anesthetic will be administered to profoundly anesthetize a concentrated area of your mouth. For most patients, the feeling of numbness usually subsides after 2-3 hours. Any post-operative tenderness (which is normal and is no cause for alarm) usually subsides within a few days and is best alleviated with ibuprofen (Advil), aspirin, or acetaminophen (Tylenol) as directed.
- ApicoectomyAfter your endodontic surgical procedure, you may experience some swelling or discoloration (bruising) in the area treated that is noticeable to others while the surgical incision heals. This swelling and/or bruising is normal and usually subsides within a few days post-operatively.
- Dental ImplantsGenerally, replacing an extracted tooth with a bridge or implant can be more expensive and time-consuming than endodontic treatment and restoration of the natural tooth.
