The Maine College of Art, also known as MECA, offers a range of academic programs to 390 undergraduate and graduate students. Founded in 1882, it serves over 2,000 adults through nearly 200 credit and noncredit public courses annually. The college provides a variety of bachelor s and master s degrees to students. It offers courses in various subjects, such as illustration, painting, photography, media, sculpture, and graphic, furniture and jewelry design. The college provides several full- and part-time study options. It maintains a cafeteria that offers breakfast and lunch options. The Maine College of Art is accredited by the National Association of Art and Design and New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
