The Jim Maples Academy serves students in grades five and six. Its academic curriculum includes art, reading, music, speech, and health and physical education. The academy has a preschool and library and media center. It operates a cafeteria that serves lunch and breakfast to students. In addition, the Jim Maples Academy offers free or reduced-price school meals for children who qualify. The academy operates a parent-teacher association that sponsors various fundraising activities for the development of the school. It offers an extended-day care program for elementary-grade students. Located in Porterville, Calif., the Jim Maples Academy is a part of the Burton School District.
