John Muir Elementary School offers classes in grades kindergarten through six, and serves more than 250 students. The school was named after the environmentalist, John Muir. It offers subjects, such as reading, speech, language, mathematics, science, social studies, music and art, and physical education. The school provides special education programs to students with disabilities. It also has language, homework, and music clubs. John Muir Elementary School s library offers a wide range of storybooks, general knowledge books, and encyclopedias. The school s sports activities include softball, kickball, football, baseball, and track and field. It has a parent-teacher association that assists in various school activities. John Muir Elementary School also provides health care, meal and transportation services.
