without any doubt, the worst experience I have ever encountered with a collision center. no communication, poor quality of work, delay after delay. what should have been a 3 or 4 day job, turned into almost a 3 week nightmare. I will never recommend carstar or any of its sister companies to anyone. I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. no discount, no loaner vehicle through all of the trouble. I really didn't even want to give them one star.

First things first. communication is essential in every aspect in our lives, unfortunately carstar is lacking in this common sense tool. the job went from 1 week to 2 weeks and so on. calls were not returned in a timely manner or at all, the estimate jumped from 1 week to the next, and parts were not ordered to complete the job. I couldn't help but laugh when they said customer service was their prime concern. for anyone deciding on a body shop or any car repairs, I highly suggest you keep looking. if you welcome headaches, stress, and a lack of professionalism, then this is your place.

I wish I could comment on the quality of work of Carstar Automotive in Portage MI. However, they have had my car for 6 weeks now and it is still not done. We had about $3500 in repairs due to an accident. Most people cannot make arrangements for other transportation for that amount of time and the cost for a rental vehicle will soon be in excess of the amount of the repairs.Another problem is their lack of communication. They did not bother to tell us that it would be nearly 2 weeks before they even submitted an estimate to the insurance company. They only call when we are at work (and never call us at work even though we provided our work and cell numbers) and leave a message to let us know it will be another week before the car wil be done. When I called to ask what the hold up was I'm given many excuses - the parts aren't in, the paint booth isn't working, etc. They think the car might be done next Monday . . . I'm not holding my breath.
