Established in 1923, ALK is a research-based global pharmaceutical company. It is one of the leaders in developing allergy vaccination/immunotherapy in the world. The company focuses on allergy treatment, prevention and diagnosis. ALK introduced the first tablet-based allergy vaccine, GRAZAX, in 2006. Some of its products include tablet, sublingual and subcutaneous vaccines, EpiPen auto-injector and allergen extracts. ALK partners with Merck for the tablet program in North America. The firm uses natural raw materials for manufacturing its products, such as pollens from grasses/trees, insect venoms and house dust mites.
