      General Info

The origin of The PGA of America can be traced to Jan. 17, 1916, when a group of New York-area golf professionals, accompanied by several prominent amateur golfers, attended a luncheon at the Taplow Club in New York City. The host was department store magnate Rodman Wanamaker. Among those in attendance were prominent golfers Walter Hagen and Francis Ouimet, and acclaimed golf course designer, A.W. Tillinghast. PGA Golf Club honors its rich history by renaming the previous Champions Grille "Taplow Pub".

      Signed up for their email notices because it was touted as a sports bar to see your favorite game. The have the NFL ticket so when our favorite team was not on national tv we decided to give it a try! Decor,TV's and food are excellent! The problem we had is this sports bar is located at PGA Village golf complex and the TV were set up for specified games ! The customers we thought they were attracting were Pub customers who wanted to come in for a meal and watch a game instead of golfers who dominated what games were being watched had their beer after a round for 20 minutes and took off for home! We had to ask to move twice to finally get near a TV to see our team! I suggest if you want a beer and some food before or after your round and watch football while you consume both then this is your place! If you want to go and watch a football game go to a sports bar that caters to football fans not golfers first then football fans!
