Founded in 1980, Hope House Ministries is a nonprofit organization operating various counseling centers, respite care and community homes, and independent living centers throughout New York. The organization provides hope, care and compassion to individuals in need, including young people and families in crisis, pregnant women, mothers and babies, and wounded, abandoned and neglected people. Its human services center, established in 1984, provides various counseling services that include individual, marital and family counseling, and addiction counseling for alcoholism, codependency, eating disorders, domestic violence and sexual abuse. Its facility, Montfort House, founded in 1989, is a respite home for children between 11- and 15-years who are caught in family disputes. It provides individual counseling, group dynamics programs, educational and recreational outings, and a school program. Hope House Ministries is located in Port Jefferson, N.Y.
