• Oral Cancer Screening
  An oral cancer screening, using a ViziLite, can help us detect oral cancer at the earliest stage. The ViziLite system consists of a special mouth rinse and light that work together to identify suspicious mouth lesions that require follow-up. Oral cancer claims the lives of 7,500 Americans each year and often isn’t caught until it has spread to the neck and lymph nodes. Early detection greatly improves survival chances, so Dr. Fu conscientiously screens for this disease.

• Fluoride Treatment
  To fight cavities, Dr. Fu uses dental sealants and fluoride treatments. Sealants are thin plastic coatings applied to back teeth. They fill the grooves to create a smooth surface that’s easy to clean and resistant to decay. Fluoride is another powerful cavity deterrent. If your child drinks bottled, instead of tap, water, they may have a fluoride deficiency. Dr. Fu will apply fluoride directly to your child’s teeth to strengthen and protect them.

Restorative

• Fillings
  Amalgam fillings, also known as silver-colored fillings, are made from a combination of metals such as tin, copper, silver and mercury. This combination of metals gives amalgam its renowned strength and durability. These fillings usually last between 10 – 15 years compared to composite fillings which typically last about 5 years. Because of its strength, these fillings are particularly useful for use on the molars in the back of the mouth, where the most chewing occurs. Its silver color is also less visible when placed on molars in the back of the mouth. As an added benefit, amalgam fillings are typically more cost effective than composite “white” fillings.

  Dental inlays and onlays are used to repair teeth that have mild to moderate tooth decay, or teeth that are damaged but do not warrant a full dental crown.   This is a letter of recommendation for my dentist, Dr. Fu, my dental hygienist, Barbara and all the medical staff in the office. My name is Maggie Worell and I have been a patient in this office for many years now. My first connection was with Barbara: she has been my hygienist for more than twenty years. When Barbara went to work for Dr. Fu I followed her to that office. It was one of the wiser decisions I have made with regard to my health care. My teeth have always been problematic. Barbara has been responsible for the healthy condition of my gums. She is a diligent hygienist. Her attention to detail goes way beyond the norm! You can tell she likes her job and it comes through in her performance. Dr. Fu is a skillful dentist. He is patient and thorough. He does not rush to a conclusion but rather with take his time and consider all the possibilities. He always tries to ease your anxiety. It is a big job when it comes to me and he is quite successful. Also the cosmetic work that he has done looks very natural. Dr. Fu is also one of the kindest dentists that I have known. Needless to say that at my age I have known a few and I can tell you that Dr. Fu really cares about his patients. In fact Dr. Fu's first task was to undo the poor dentistry of my former dentist. This involved root canal work gone bad and was quite complicated. He handled it in a professional and caring manner. He immediately gained my trust and it has never wavered since then. More than once I have had to make an emergency appointment and I have received incredible attention from all the office staff.
