Employment Law

• Employment Contract
  We handle all aspects of this process: we will prepare the articles of incorporation (organization for LLCs), bylaws (operating agreements for LLCs), minutes, shareholder agreements, subscription agreements, banking resolutions, employment agreements, and all other documents and instruments that may be required to comply with state and federal law. We also obtain a corporate kit containing the corporation's stock certificates and corporate seal. We assist our clients with state and local filing requirements. We also advise our clients on the proper use and registration of their corporate or fictitious name.

Property Law

• Real Estate Litigation
  Florida law establishes the risk premium portion of the title insurance cost based on the purchase price of the property, and is the same for all title insurance agents. The closing agent will also charge a nominal additional fee for their services, including the title search and examination of title. Although you can purchase title insurance from a variety of title agents, real estate attorneys are highly trained in the complexities of real estate law and these professionals are best qualified to conduct thorough examinations of title and to issue title insurance policies.   In connection with the construction of new residences and buildings, and their improvement or alteration, our real estate-related services involve the negotiation, documentation, amendment and enforcement of construction contracts and agreements between owners and architects, including general contractor agreements, subcontractor agreements, interior design, and other similar agreements. We also counsel owners and contractors in connection with Florida’s Construction Lien Law.

• Wills
  We prepare estate plans of all types and complexity, and for all sizes of estates. Wills and trusts, durable powers of attorney, and advance medical directives, including living wills and health care surrogate designations, are the basic estate planning documents. They must be carefully drafted to address each client's unique circumstances and to accomplish the estate planning goals which the client has identified. Estate planning does not merely include disposition of assets following death. It may also involve planning related to accumulation, preservation, and use, enjoyment and disposition of assets during one's life. Thus, our estate planning practice also includes such things as structuring the ownership of assets for asset protection purposes, insurance, retirement and investment planning, and planning for lifetime gifts to family members and charitable organizations.

  Carrie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Law from Western Carolina University, graduating cum laude from the University’s Honors College. She then relocated to Florida and attended Florida State University’s College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate degree in 2007. She was admitted to the Florida Bar that same year, and was certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in Wills, Trusts and Estates Law in 2016.
