Midas Tire and Auto Service, 1400 S Federal Highway Pompano Beach, FL 33062Midas ruined my new 2015 car's oil plug and filter. There are inexperienced mechanics working here. It is common knowledge to not over torque these components but they tightened my oil plug with an impact wrench and rounded out the hex bit so it cannot be removed anymore. I took the car to another mechanic who did not want to touch the car after seeing how rounded out the drain plug was, and said a new oil pan will be needed since they tightened it way too much. I had to hire a professional welder to weld a new nut to the rounded out oil plug in order to change the oil. The oil filter was also over-torqued, causing sealing and additional leaking issues. The car now leaks oil and cannot be covered under warranty do to these mechanic's errors. The car only had 10,000 miles on it when I first brought it in to Midas for a simple oil change, no other mechanics had touched the car since Midas did the oil change. This has now turned into a +$1,000.00 job. DO NOT TRUST THE MIDAS TOUCH!!!They WILL damage up your car with lazy mechanic impact wrenches on the wrong components. Something you will not notice until you bring back for routine maintenance.
