- Dental SealantsWhen we apply a dental sealant, we paint a plastic coating on top of your teeth. This makes your teeth smooth getting rid of the rough edges, depressions, and grooves that are commonly found on teeth. It is essentially a protective coating against tooth decay and cavities.
- FillingsAs a general dentist Dr. Murphy can take care of all of your general dental needs including basic preventative and periodontal care, root canals, composite or amalgam fillings and cosmetic bonding. At your first visit, we will do a thorough, comprehensive exam, x-rays if needed, and clean your teeth. Your second appointment will be to sit and talk with Dr. Murphy about the findings of your exam, and any treatment that is necessary.
- Resin CompositeDental fillings are used to fill cavities and repair cracked or broken teeth. Fillings can be done with gold, porcelain, or silver amalgam, but is most commonly done with materials called composite resin fillings that are designed to match the color of your teeth.
- VeneersVeneers are thin shells intended to cover the front side of teeth to hide stains, chips, decay, or irregularities. A dental technician uses a model created by a dentist to make a custom shell out of specials materials.
- CrownsA tooth can lose its normal shape and size for a variety of reasons. A crown covers your tooth to help restore its original shape and size. Crowns can also be used to make teeth stronger and look better.
- BridgesBridges can be removable or fixed. Removable bridges can be taken out and cleaned by patients, whereas fixed bridges have to be removed by a dentist. Bridges can be implanted to the jaw or under the gums. With so many options, it is important to consult with your dentist about which type of bridge is best for you.
